During this busy time of year when the major holidays for many religions collide, people like to share the spirit with their neighbors. But what do you say?
Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas? Something else entirely? The debate over political correctness rages on year after year.

Since we have embraced the religious beliefs of a vast majority we must acknowledge their different religious holidays. I don't believe this goes as far as calling a decorated pine tree, a Christian adaptation, a Holiday Tree instead of a Christmas Tree, or that we should eliminate Santa (who is represents a spirit of the giving season and long past association with the Christian saint). I still wish people a "Merry Christmas" and they are welcome to greet me with the religious association that they recognize...just don't tell me I can't recognize my "roots" in Christianity. Holiday plays at schools....if you must call them that ....but acknowledge the traditional Christmas songs as part of the holiday season and don't ban them. They will always remain Christmas plays to me.....and other religions, or non-religious, can enjoy them or not attend.
So, Merry Christmas to all of you in my season of giving. I'm fine with that and you be fine with your way of celebrating.
